Ps4 Controller Not Connecting To Steam
One of the main features of the new controller that launched with PS4 Pro was data transfer over USB. The old ones couldn't be used wired. Also I don't think there is a difference between those USB cables. PS4 Controller not connecting to PS4 and won't reset? Ask Question 18. I was playing my PS4 two days ago and then packed it up with two controllers that were both connected to this PS4. I got to where I was going, set everything up and now the controllers won't connect. They show pulsing orange when they plug in, but when I hit the PS Button.
Make sure no other Controller software is running; IDK those always gave me issues with how Steam sees them properly and such. Then go into Steam BPM Controllers and un-tick every single box Then full exit BPM and then Steam Client and relaunch it. Then repeat but tick just the PS4 Controller box; if this alone doesn't do it, try the Generic box as well. Exit out BPM and relaunch Steam Client again. Not sure that you must do it in these steps; but again I'm just trying to suggest that as a more helpful means, since that should do it 100% Did you check the DS4 Controller in Windows Controllers (Winkey+R, type JOY.CPL, click OK) and check that Axis', Triggers, Buttons, all working in that? I realise this is a bit late, but for anyone else having this issue, I just managed to solve it. So if like me, your controller connects to your computer but not to Steam (you've already paired it via Bluetooth), try clicking the Windows notification that comes up when you turn on the controller and connect ('Add a device, tap to setup your wireless controller').
I clicked on that and it asked if I wanted to pair this controller to the windows device. Click pair and it should work. Just bear in mind the controller turns off quite quickly so you have to do it all quite fast. After it pairs, start the controller again and it should stay on and show up in Steam. I've no idea why you have to 'pair' the controller again after you've already set up the Bluetooth connection but it worked. Hopefully it does for someone else too.
This might work for other controllers but I'm not sure. With folks having this issue, are you at all jumping between using the controller on Console & PC?
If so, this is usually the issue, as the Console may have reset something about the controller, which may make the device ID# show up as different on the PC later down the road, so the Install/Update + Pairing may need to be done again. This can also happen after a major OS update, or anything to do with Kernel Updates in the OS, as this usually might wipe clean the device ID#s from old or un-used (such as non-active controller) devices. Just go to your device manager - Wireless controller and try disabling the USB INPUT DEVICE and enable it again. If that doesn't work, just delete the wireless controller and reconnect your ds4 to reinstall it. It obviously isn't a permanent fix, but I don't know if there is one. Darnified ui for fallout 3. I should have just bought an xbox controller. Despite the higher latency and the lack of touch pad and what not. Honestly, ds4 is a much better controller i just wish it was more friendly with pc.
I've been having the same problem lately.
