Technical Known Issues Issue 1: Presence status when on a Call When a phone number is enabled to receive phone calls via Skype for Business and through a physical handset, while the physical handset is in use, the Skype for Business presence will remain unchanged. Issue 2: Voice call to Conference Audio phone calls cannot be converted to a video call when the audio is not fully going through the Skype for Business environment. Issue 3: Missed Call notification and SIP Trunk When a user is configured to received missed call notifications from Skype for Business and Unified Messaging and an incoming call gets picked up on the physical handset or the call is not picked up at all, the user will receive two missed call notifications. Issue 4: Conference ID and Meeting URL When being migrated from Lync to Skype for Business, the Conference ID and Meeting URL will change, the user will need to reschedule any standing Skype for Business meetings to include the new Conference ID and Meeting URL. Additionally, when a user is having their SIP migrated from MeetMe to UBC.CA, their account will need to be disabled and re-enabled which will change their Conference ID and meeting URL. It is possible however, to migrate a user's SIP from MeetMe to UBC.CA and from Lync to Skype for Business and maintain the Conference ID and Meeting URL but it will need to be specially requested.
Issue 5: Workaround when modifying existing online meeting If a user needs to remove Skype for Business / Lync Meeting details from an existing meeting, they will come across an error generated by Skype for Business / Lync when trying to send the updates. Microsoft does not have a mechanism to edit existing Skype for Business / Lync meeting and remove a portion of the invitation. There are two options for a workaround. First, the user can delete the meeting and resend the meeting invitation without the Skype for Business / Lync meeting information. Or, they will need to disable the Skype for Business / Lync Outlook Add-in, remove the Skype for Business / Lync meeting details and send the update to the attendees, and finally re-enable the Skype for Business / Lync Outlook Add-in. Issue 6: EV users stop receiving incoming calls on their soft client Users may report that they are not receiving incoming calls on their soft phone client anymore, even if their desk phone still received phone calls. This will affect the entire SIP domain.
The resolution is to check the event logs of the meditation servers, shutdown the meditation server services and restart both MDS servers one by one. Once everything has been rebooted, everything should work as expected.
Issue 7: Outgoing calls cannot connect to target number when calling from SFB to PSTN If a Skype for Business user that is enabled for a soft phone attempts to make a call to either a 5-digit or a 10-digit number and while dialing out the connection gets established but eventually the call gets dropped before it starts ringing. If the user retries, they should be able to place the call successfully. If the issue persists, the Skype for Business administrator will need to check the User Activity Report and search for 'Unexpected Failure' in 'Audio' and look for Diagnostic ID 1200 or 10001. A scheduled reboot of the Meditation Servers may be necessary.
Issue 8: Federation from outside of UBC networks It seems that Federation is not fully functional when trying to connect to a contact from outside UBC. If a user is on VPN, VDI, or a campus network, federation with all external users is working. When you are outside of a UBC network, federation with Microsoft.com will still work, but other external users will work only one way. This will need to be tested further as we have switched to Skype for Business fully. Issue 9: Recording Feature Unavailable When joining a Skype for Business meeting from a Microsoft Outlook meeting invitation and the Skype for Business Client is not open the record meeting feature is not available. For the record meeting feature to be available the Skype for Business client must be open before joining the meeting.
